What Types of Quagensia-Enhanced Content Should I Create?

Introduction

Work smarter, not just harder. Don’t waste time creating content that gets very few views, likes, subscribes, and shares. Create Quagensia®-enhanced content that traders are most interested in:

  1. Actionable, fully backtested point-and-click trading strategies that are relevant to the instruments they trade and their trading styles.
  2. Downloadable point-and-click Quagensia Strategies that our users can download then generate their code to test them in their trading platform and tweak with point-and-click, making your Quagensia Strategies interactive.
  3. Content that teaches them how to use the Quagensia Desktop Application to the fullest, including both tutorials as well as point-and-click trading strategies that utilize different point-and-click features of the Quagensia Desktop Application in useful and interesting ways.

Make a smaller amount of higher-quality content rather than a larger amount of lower-quality content.

There is far too much low-quality trading-related content on the internet and far too little high-quality content. Put extra time and effort into each strategy or video to stand out in a crowded field of average content and delight those who discover it.

Regarding making high-quality video content, don’t spend too much time on making your video appear as “professional” as the videos made by big companies, for two reasons. First off, this requires a great deal of expertise and is incredibly time-consuming, even for those who have made careers out of making videos with “high production values.” Secondly, this is not what traders are hungry for anyway, so you are unlikely to get much better results than you would by creating videos with “lower production values.”

Instead, almost all of your time and effort should be focused on giving traders something real, something that actually adds value to their lives. Don’t just make another moving average crossover strategy, because it’s been done 10,000 times. Don’t just make another “Let me show you what I see going on in the market today” video or “Introduction to XYZ” video with no quantitative research, quantitative trading strategy, or quantitative logic to back up what you are saying. One of the great things about the Quagensia® Desktop Application is that it allows you to make a better version of nearly every YouTube, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and Instagram video about technical analysis or quantitative trading. For instance, rather than being the 10,000th YouTuber with an “Introduction to Bollinger Bands®” video and getting almost no likes, subscribes, shares, or new subscribers to your email newsletter, instead you have many options for ways to create a better “Introduction to Bollinger Bands®” video. For instance, you can create one or more trading strategies and backtest them, talk about the results, and even use the Quagensia Desktop Application to output CSV files from the backtests, allowing you to easily create charts and graphs in Microsoft Excel that do not exist in the backtest results screens of your trading platform and therefore become your own proprietary research. You can then offer the Quagensia Strategies and Excel worksheets that were included in the video for free in exchange for the user signing up for your email newsletter or taking another desirable action.

Video content is usually best.

We and our users like free, high-quality Quagensia-enhanced content of all types using all kinds of media (video, text, etc.). That said, video content or content that includes at least one video is usually best because people generally prefer watching video content rather than reading long articles. You will likely end up with a lot more total views, likes, subscribes, shares, new email newsletter subscribers, or a lot more of whatever else you want more of if your content is in video form.

Many major social media platforms allow users to post videos to their social media accounts as long as the videos are not longer than a specified maximum duration. To get the most views of your video content whether or not we choose to promote it, you can post every video you make to social media platforms that support videos of your video’s duration, including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and TikTok.

Also, you can create short “trailers” or summary videos for your full-length videos and post them both to social networks like TikTok that focus on ultra-short video content as well as to social networks that accept ultra-short videos including X, YouTube’s “Shorts”, and Instagram’s “Reels”. Benefits of creating ultra-short summary videos for your full length videos include:

  1. A lot more social networks support ultra-short videos than full-length videos. Make it once, post it everywhere.
  2. Users are more likely to click on a 60-second video than a 30-minute video, and then you have up to 60 seconds to get them motivated enough to commit to a 30-minute video. Even on a social network like YouTube that supports both types of video formats, an excellent 60-second video will often win a user over who generally doesn’t click on long videos posted by trading YouTube channels with which they are not familiar.

Videos are a lot easier to post than they are to make, so post them everywhere you can post them for free to maximize your investment put into making them.

Consider making these kinds of Quagensia-enhanced content.

  1. If you create high-quality, Quagensia-enhanced, time-sensitive news and analysis for traders, we may promote it on our home page and other pages where we display point-and-click trading strategies. The very best websites and social media channels may even be included on the Quagensia Portal’s Trading Strategies – News & Analysis directory.
  2. We like videos that include screen recordings of content creators either making small changes to a Quagensia Strategy or building a Quagensia Strategy from start to finish.
  3. We like tutorial videos on any of the topics listed on our Quagensia Help Documentation page. If they are particularly high-quality and in keeping with our brand, we may link to them from the appropriate help pages.
  4. You can also create videos on any trading topic where the video is not necessarily about teaching the user how to use a Quagensia Desktop Application, but rather about some other trading topic where your use of a Quagensia Desktop Application merely plays a part. If these kinds of videos are particularly high-quality and in keeping with our brand, we may add them to the appropriate area of the Quagensia Portal such as the Trading Strategy Video Directory.
  5. You can create entire courses or mini-courses that are either specifically on the topic of Quagensia N Edition or Quagensia T Edition, or you can make courses on one of many different trading topics where the central topic is not Quagensia, but where you build Quagensia Strategies in your videos and offer the created Quagensia Strategies as part of the course. Even mini-courses are a lot of work, but the more substantial your Quagensia-enhanced content, generally the more we will promote it and the more others will share it on the appropriate trading subreddits, third-party trading forums, Facebook, X, blogs, and more. If your course is particularly high-quality and in keeping with our brand, we may feature it prominently in the Quagensia Portal’s Trading Strategies – Courses & Education directory.
  6. If a Quagensia Strategy you produce is particularly interesting or is non-basic in some way, we may promote it in the Quagensia Portal’s Trading Strategy Directory.
  7. We like Quagensia Strategies that use advanced features of the Quagensia Desktop Application and video tutorials that show how to use the advanced features. Here are some examples of how you could use advanced features to create compelling Quagensia Strategies and videos:
    • Create a Quagensia Strategy or tutorial involving any of the more advanced topics listed on our Quagensia Help Documentation page. To get more ideas for advanced content, check out the list of advanced features listed in the feature list near the bottom of our home page.
    • Create a Quagensia Strategy or tutorial involving some of the more advanced Quagensia Functions of Quagensia N Edition or Quagensia T Edition. To see the full list of Quagensia Functions, go to the Algo Explorer on the left of the application’s main window, browse to “Algos from Quagensia > Functions” and keep expanding the “Actions” and “Expressions” folders until you see a sub-folder containing Quagensia Functions that you would like to use in a Quagensia Strategy or tutorial.
    • Create a Quagensia Strategy or tutorial involving the use of loops with lists, single-dimensional arrays, and/or multi-dimensional arrays to do all kinds of things with data that cannot be done with data types that can only hold a single piece of data.
    • Do you have expertise in a spreadsheet application such as Microsoft Excel, a database such as Microsoft SQL Server, SQLite, or MySQL, or mathematical modeling or statistical computing applications like MATLAB® or R? If so, you can create highly advanced content that only a small percentage of Quagensia content creators have the expertise to create, greatly reducing your competition. You can create a Quagensia Strategy or tutorial that explores the extreme power of the Quagensia Table System that comes with Quagensia N Edition to get tables of lots of kinds of data, not just time series data, into and out of your NinjaTrader® strategies and query in-memory data tables from within your NinjaTrader® strategies, or you could create, modify, and delete rows of data using the equivalent of in-memory data tables by using multiple parallel arrays or lists in either Quagensia N Edition or Quagensia T Edition, and then write that data to data files on disk. These techniques allow you to run a backtest or optimization of a NinjaTrader® or TradeStation® strategy that outputs a report containing tabular data which you can load into any database, use as input data in MATLAB® or R, or load into Microsoft Excel to manipulate further and use to create visually powerful charts and graphs that answer your questions about the markets in ways that backtest performance reports cannot. You can use these techniques to most likely be the first person to ever do one of any number of advanced things in a trading strategy built using any codeless strategy builder, not just the first to do something with a Quagensia Desktop Application, making you the first person to ever present a certain advanced algorithmic trading strategy or methodology in a way that is understandable by every trader in the world with basic English language skills, not just to the small percentage of traders with programming knowledge. This kind of content would not only be of interest to traders, but would also be of interest to many users of Microsoft Excel, any database technology you use, MATLAB®, R, or any other data-related technology that you integrate into your NinjaTrader® or TradeStation® strategy using a Quagensia Desktop Application.
  8. You can create any of the content described above, but with a focus on trading a specific instrument or asset class. You could focus entirely on specific stocks or ETFs, gold futures, Micro E-mini S&P 500 futures, energy futures in general, specific currencies, or any other instrument or asset class in which you have deep knowledge and experience from which others could benefit.
  9. You can create any of the content described above, but with a focus on “tested technical analysis”. There are many books and YouTube channels that focus on technical analysis, but few that test the predictive abilities of any of the methods of technical analysis they present on historical market data by backtesting trading strategies in popular trading platforms.
  10. If you have an expertise in fundamental analysis and access to fundamental data either directly from within NinjaTrader® or TradeStation® or if you have access to files containing fundamental data and are interested in creating NinjaTrader® trading strategies using the Quagensia Table System that comes with Quagensia N Edition, you could be one of a relatively small group of content creators whose focus is “tested fundamental analysis”. Few content creators test the predictive abilities of the methods of fundamental analysis on historical market data by backtesting trading strategies in popular trading platforms.

Add value to another content creator’s point-and-click trading strategy by creating a modification of it or response to it.

If you aren’t quite ready to commit the time required to create your own original point-and-click trading strategy that uses your own Quagensia Strategy that you built from scratch, you can still get published in the “Peer Reviews, Modifications & Responses” section of a point-and-click trading strategy that was published on our website by another content creator.

A modification of or response to a point-and-click trading strategy uses the original point-and-click trading strategy as a starting point, but adds significant value to it. Examples of adding enough value to be considered acceptable for publication as a modification or response include:

  1. Different edition of the Quagensia Desktop Application and different trading platform: If the Quagensia Strategy used to test the original point-and-click trading strategy was created using only one edition of the Quagensia Desktop Application and the original point-and-click trading strategy was backtested on only one trading platform, re-create the same point-and-click trading strategy with the other edition of the Quagensia Desktop Application and backtest it using the other trading platform. Many traders only use NinjaTrader® or TradeStation® and don’t even have access to the other trading platform or don’t have access to the market data required to backtest the point-and-click trading strategy in one of the trading platforms. When you report on your backtest results obtained using the second trading platform and probably slightly different market data, this adds further value for all our users because they can compare your backtest results to those reported in the original point-and-click trading strategy, hopefully as evidence that any positive backtest results reported in the original point-and-click trading strategy were unlikely due to errors in the market data or an overly optimistic backtesting engine used to backtest the original point-and-click trading strategy. If the two sets of backtest results are significantly different from one another, your contribution also helps our users by ensuring that they are aware that they should be extra careful to not take the original backtest results at face value.
  2. Different instrument or different instrument type with additional added value: If you have expertise in trading an instrument or an instrument type that was not used in the original point-and-click trading strategy, you can backtest the Quagensia Strategy from the original point-and-click trading strategy on the instrument or instrument type in which you have expertise. This alone isn’t enough to get published as a modification or response on our website, but your modification or response may get published on our website if the backtest performance was particularly good over many trades, the backtest results were interesting and you have some interesting theories for why they were interesting, you did multiple tests on your instrument or instrument type using different parameters and you explain why the results are potentially important, or if you have some valuable instrument-specific or instrument type-specific analysis that adds real value for our users who are interested in trading an instrument or an instrument type that was not covered in the original video or article.
  3. Modifications to the original Quagensia Strategy that make it superior in some significant way: If you modified the logic of the original Quagensia Strategy in the original point-and-click trading strategy and your changes made it better in some significant way, our users will be interested. Obviously, if your version of the original point-and-click trading strategy has significantly better backtest results traders will want it, but there are other reasons traders would value a modified Quagensia Strategy as well. This includes:
    • The original Quagensia Strategy hard-coded a lot of the logic and you changed the hard-coded logic to accept input parameters from the trading platform.
    • The original Quagensia Strategy has significant issues when used on a different instrument type, and you were able to fix these issues by modifying the original Quagensia Strategy’s logic.
    • More generally, you were able to make modifications to the original Quagensia Strategy that made it have significantly better backtest results for a popular type of trading, or that made it able to be adapted to a scenario in which the original Quagensia Strategy is not ideally suited.

If your modification of or response to the original trading strategy adds enough value to the original work, we may also publish it as a point-and-click trading strategy with its own web page, not just as a response to the original point-and-click trading strategy. However, most published responses will be published not as trading strategies but as responses to the original trading strategy, and will be listed on the web page on our website that is dedicated to the original trading strategy. Note that most of the rules that apply to original content apply to derivative content, so we will only post high-quality responses that are in keeping with our brand.

Important Legal Note

When a content creator submits their original work for consideration for publication as a trading strategy on our website, they check a checkbox that says that they permit and encourage others to create derivative works of Quagensia-enhanced content. Although copyright law and related laws differ from country to country, you are unlikely to get into trouble as long as you only create modifications of or responses to content that is listed as a point-and-click trading strategy on our website and as long as you promote the original content creator’s content in your own content, which drives free traffic to the original content creator’s content. Just give the original content creator prominent credit in your content, including a link to the original content creator’s content, make it clear to us whose work you are creating a derivative work upon when you submit your modification or response using the How to Submit Your Quagensia-Enhanced Content page, and if you want to be extra careful to avoid any breaches of copyright law, you can reach out to them directly on their social media channel to get their permission to create derivative works based on their work. Note that all downloadable Quagensia Strategies and Quagensia Functions that you make available in conjunction with your content also need to credit the original content creator in the “Description & Notes” field of the Quagensia Algo file, and must include a URL to any of the original content creators’ content where the user would be able to download the original Quagensia Algo file from the original content creator.

If you speak multiple languages, create content in each of the languages you speak.

If you are multi-lingual, you have a large advantage over other content creators.

Translating your content is a lot easier than making it in the first place, and your non-English content will probably have a lot less competition in the YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and TikTok video ranking algorithms, a lot less competition in Google, Bing, and other search engines, and a lot less competition when it comes to our decision-making process for choosing the best content in each spoken language to promote for free.

Furthermore, you could become the premiere source of Quagensia-enhanced content in a language other than English much more easily than you could in English.

First the bad news: point-and-click trading strategies that you want to be considered for publication as a point-and-click trading strategy in the point-and-click strategy parts of our website need to have an English version, because our website is primarily in English.

Now the good news: We and our multi-lingual users want Quagensia-enhanced content in all spoken languages, and you have multiple options for creating content that our users want and that we will likely promote for free, including:

  1. Non-English versions of your own original content: You can create translations of your own original English-language point-and-click trading strategies that you submit for consideration for publication as a trading strategy. If we publish your English-language trading strategy, we will most likely publish your translations of your own original content as well, plus you can post all your translations of all your original point-and-click trading strategies to all the social networks where you already publish your English-language content. You can submit all versions of your original content as a group using the How to Submit Your Quagensia-Enhanced Content page.
  2. Non-English modifications of and responses to the content of others: You can create a modification of or response to the content of others as described in detail in the section above, but in another spoken language. For instance, if the original point-and-click trading strategy was in English and was tested on the stock of an American company listed on a U.S. exchange, you could use the original point-and-click trading strategy as a starting point and add significant value to it in one of the ways described in the section on modifications and responses above, then test your trading strategy using your Quagensia Strategy on the stock of a company listed in your home country, and create your response video in the spoken language of your home country. Follow the same precautions as described in the section on modifications and responses above to reduce the odds of falling afoul of copyright law and use the How to Submit Your Quagensia-Enhanced Content page to submit your non-English response video to us. If we approve your non-English response video for publication, it will appear in the “Peer Reviews, Modifications & Responses” section of the trading strategy upon whose content you based your work.
  3. Translations and non-English modifications of and responses to the point-and-click trading strategies created by us at Quagensia, Inc.: We publish our in-house content using the content creator named Quagensia. You don’t have to ask us permission to create Quagensia-enhanced derivative works based off of our point-and-click trading strategies or our tutorials, because we own the copyright to these works and we give you permission to create derivative works based off of these works as long as you follow the rules for creating Quagensia-enhanced content. To see a list of point-and-click trading strategies we created, check out the main page for the content creator named Quagensia. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you want to talk with us about translating or making responses to any of our point-and-click trading strategies, or if you are ambitious and want to translate lots of them into another spoken language in exchange for us promoting your translations for free.
  4. Translations of our tutorials, or non-English videos that would be a good fit on a particular Quagensia Help Documentation page: If you create high-quality Quagensia video tutorials on a social media platform like YouTube, there is a very high chance that we will promote you for free by linking to your tutorials on the relevant pages on our website. Note that we want to feature both English and non-English video tutorials created by our content creators on many Quagensia Help Documentation pages, and just because there is already one video from one content creator on a given tutorial page doesn’t mean that we don’t want more, as long as the additional videos are unique in a way that would benefit our users, such as being in a different spoken language, covering a different edition of the Quagensia Desktop Application, being meant for either less advanced users or more advanced users, or covering a specific sub-topic not covered by the other videos on the tutorial page.

We will promote the highest-quality content and the most prolific content creators that are on-brand in multiple places.

In addition to promoting the content above directly on our home page, on other pages on our website containing point-and-click trading strategies, on relevant Quagensia Help Documentation pages, and in the Quagensia Portal, we will promote the very best content on our social media channels, in our Discord community, in our email newsletter, and in any other place that benefits our users.

The most prolific creators of the highest-quality Quagensia-enhanced content that is in keeping with our brand will be the most heavily promoted by us.
