Introduction
We accept two types of Quagensia®-enhanced content: trading ideas and how to use our software. We accept the content by linking to it. The content is typically in the form of videos and articles (which can be in the form of blog posts). Content will be considered as long as it adheres to our Terms of Service and the rules below. Note that the rules below will be updated in the event we discover new kinds of content that may harm our users or our company.
Rules for Creating Quagensia-Enhanced Content
The rules for creating any Quagensia-enhanced content, whether or not you want us to consider promoting it for free, follow:
- You must adhere to the terms and conditions of our Terms of Service.
- If you would like to use our logos, you can download them from our Logos And Assets web page. Your use of our logos must follow the rules listed on that web page as well.
- TradeStation, Inc. and NinjaTrader, LLC have their own rules for allowed and disallowed uses of their logos, trademarks, copyrighted material, and screenshots and videos of their products, services, website and content. You should make sure that you are not breaking any of their rules as well.
- If you are building a business around your content, or if you, your business, or your content have certain other characteristics, you may be considered a “Professional” rather than a “Non-Professional” by the exchanges, and you may be required to inform your brokers and any of your other market data providers of this. Market data fees for certain instruments are much higher for “Professionals” than “Non-Professionals”, so if you are currently not classified as a “Professional”, please talk with your brokers and your other market data providers about the kind of content you intend to create and the business you want to build around it to determine if you need to change your status to “Professional” and to determine how this will impact your trading costs. If it turns out that you need to change your status to “Professional” and you get your market data from TradeStation®, you can save a lot of money by changing as many of your market data feeds as possible to “delayed” rather than real-time. Check out the “Market Data Pricing” Page at TradeStation.com to see the large differences between the “Professional” and “Non-Professional” market data rates and how much you save by choosing to receive the delayed version of market data if you are classified as a “Professional.” Note that TradeStation® 9.5 and TradeStation® 10 do not support mixing time series based on real-time market data with time series based on delayed data. So, if you want to create and backtest trading strategies whose logic considers data from multiple instruments, the market data on which all of the instruments in your trading strategy are based will need to be either all based on delayed data or all based on real-time data. There may be other limits on what can be done with delayed data in TradeStation® 9.5, TradeStation® 10, NinjaTrader® 8, NinjaTrader® Desktop, or other trading platforms. If you get market data from another broker or market data provider, they may or may not have the ability for “Professionals” to save money by receiving delayed versions of their market data inexpensively or for free.
- Don’t break copyright law. Don’t create derivative works based on other people’s work without their permission or without giving them prominent credit. When a content creator submits their original work for consideration for publication as a full article on our website, they agree to terms and conditions that include that they permit and encourage others to create derivative works of their Quagensia-enhanced content. Although copyright law and related laws differ from country to country, you are unlikely to get into trouble as long as you only create modifications of or responses to content that is listed as a point-and-click trading strategy on our website and you promote the original content creator’s content in your own content, which drives free traffic to the original content creator’s content. Just give the original content creator prominent credit in your content, including a link to the original content creator’s content. Make it clear to us whose work you created a derivative work of when you submit your modification or response using the How to Submit Your Quagensia-Enhanced Content page. If you want to be extra careful to avoid any breaches of copyright law, you can reach out to them directly on their social media channel to get their permission to create derivative works based on their work. Note that all downloadable Quagensia Strategies and Quagensia Functions that you make available in conjunction with your content also needs to credit the original content creator in the “Description & Notes” field of the Quagensia Algo file. You must also include a URL to any of the original content creators’ content where the user would be able to download the original Quagensia Algo file from the original content creator.
- You must not distribute or link to the plain text code output of any Quagensia N Edition Strategy file or Quagensia T Edition Strategy file without also linking to the Quagensia N Edition Strategy file (which has a .qsnx extension) or Quagensia T Edition Strategy file (which has a .qstx extension).
- You must not distribute or link to any files that hide or obfuscate the plain text code output of any Quagensia N Edition Strategy file or Quagensia T Edition Strategy file including but not limited to a “.dll” file containing a compiled version of the code output.
Rules for Creating Quagensia-Enhanced Content If You Want Us to Consider Promoting It for Free
- The page(s) and/or posts(s) containing your Quagensia-enhanced content must include a link to one or more Quagensia N Edition Strategy files (which have the .qsnx extension) or Quagensia T Edition Strategy files (which have the .qstx extension) or include instructions for how to obtain one of these two types of files. If your content does not have a Quagensia N or T Edition Strategy file associated with it then link to the Quagensia home page at https://www.quagensia.com or another page on the Quagensia website that has Quagensia N or T Edition Strategy files.
- One of the following two messages or an equivalent message that conveys the same information must be included in the description of your YouTube video or in a similar location on the page(s) and/or post(s) containing your Quagensia-enhanced content:
- You can download Quagensia® N Edition (for NinjaTrader®) from the Quagensia website at https://www.quagensia.com and open and tweak the posted (or linked to) .qsnx strategy file (or files) from within Quagensia N Edition. - Your Quagensia-enhanced content must be high-quality and in keeping with our brand.
- The web page (or social media channel or discussion forum), and the website (or social media platform) hosting your content must be in keeping with our brand. Note that we greatly prefer linking to our content creators’ social media channels rather than their websites. However, we do link to the very best independent websites that are strictly in keeping with our brand and that we are confident won’t harm our users or our company now or in the future.
-
The determination as to whether or not a given piece of Quagensia-enhanced content, web page, website, social media channel, social media platform, or discussion forum is in keeping with our brand is subjective, and we reserve the right to make this determination at our discretion. Here are some things that may disqualify your piece of Quagensia-enhanced content, web page, website, social media channel, social media platform, or discussion forum from being considered in keeping with our brand:
- Anything illegal in either the United States or any of the other major economies of the world in which we do business or consider doing business.
-
Anything that in our opinion is either immoral or will cause our users to lose money. Examples:
- Touting products or services that, in our opinion, either seek to prey on or unintentionally prey on new traders who don’t yet have enough experience to know that using a particular product or service is almost always a bad idea.
- Saying or implying something that we believe to be either untrue or deceptive, or using logic to tout a particular product, service, or trading idea that in our opinion is unsound or invalid.
- Anything that seems even a little bit like it is too good to be true (as determined by us). E.g. prospects should not be led to think “Who knows… maybe that black box trading strategy really does work as well as claimed and its creator just happens to be selling it to retail traders instead of keeping it to himself and running a ton of client money with it.” Or “Maybe that really expensive product or service actually is amazing and absolutely worth the high price for some people.” Still, we will consider all products and services like these to be not in keeping with our brand due to caution; not because we are certain that something is amiss.
-
Anything generally looked down upon by financial regulators in either the United States or any of the other major economies of the world in which we do business or consider doing business. Examples:
- Failing to make it clear that the hypothetical results of backtesting a trading strategy are merely hypothetical results and were not based on actual trades in live markets.
- Making promises regarding future financial returns.
- If our intuition tells us that something may be looked down upon by financial regulators in either the United States or any of the other major economies of the world in which we do business or consider doing business, we will consider it to be not in keeping with our brand.
- Anything that could cause us to get banned or punished by either the search engines or social media sites on which we rely for traffic, our payment processors or other financial partners, our email marketing platform, or any of our other partners on which we rely. Unfortunately, both for us and for some of you, in our opinion these companies sometimes have rules that go well beyond the rules of financial regulators when deciding who to ban or punish. For example, we steer clear of cryptocurrency content that is based on the lesser-known cryptocurrencies because some of the aforementioned companies have issues with cryptocurrencies. We also avoid penny stock content entirely and are very careful with what forex content we allow for the same reason.
