It is best to only have one open instance of a given edition of the Quagensia® Desktop Application that points to a given Quagensia User Folder in order to protect your user data in that folder from being overwritten from the instance of Quagensia with the older data.
For instance, if you have the same Quagensia Algo file open in two instances at the same time and make and save some changes to the algo file in one of the instances, the other instance won’t automatically refresh its version of the Quagensia Algo file with the new changes. If you didn’t notice this, then made and saved some changes to the out of date copy of the Quagensia Algo file in the second instance, you would have overwritten your changes that were made in the first instance with the changes you made in the second instance.
There are many other scenarios similar to this one whereby different kinds of your user data can be accidentally overwritten if you have two open instances of Quagensia pointing to the same Quagensia User Folder.
For your own safety, if you attempt to open a second instance of any edition of Quagensia when another instance of Quagensia that points to the same Quagensia User Folder is already open, the “Single Instance” window will appear.
It will display warnings similar to those above, and display both an “OK” button as well as a “More options” link button.
If you click the “OK” button, this window will close, the previously opened instance of Quagensia will be displayed on one of your monitors, and a second instance of Quagensia will not be opened.
If you click on the “More options” link button, you will be presented with a button that allows you to open another instance of Quagensia, despite the risks.
If you want to open a second instance of Quagensia anyway despite the risks, or if you believe that you don’t have an already open version of Quagensia and are being presented with the “Single Instance” window in error, you can click on this link button to open up a new instance of Quagensia as you initially requested.
