Creating and modifying Quagensia® Strategies with the Quagensia® Desktop Application is quick and easy.
The best ways to quickly get up to speed to be able to create and backtest your first Quagensia Strategy are as follows:
STEP #1: Watch the “Start Here” video tutorial and follow along to create your first Quagensia Strategy and backtest it, and learn how to locate and modify Quagensia Strategies from Quagensia and use them as perfect starting points for your own trading strategies.
You can watch this video by following these steps:
- Open Quagensia.
- Go to the “Start Page” tab. This tab should already be open if you are opening Quagensia for the first time.
- Click the button in the “Start Here” area in the upper left of the Start Page to open a web page with the video.
- Watch the video, and follow along to build your Quagensia Strategy and backtest it in NinjaTrader® or TradeStation®.
STEP #2: Watch some or all of the Quagensia video tutorials listed on the “Start Page” tab of Quagensia and follow along.
These video tutorials will guide you through the creation and modification of increasingly complex and interesting trading strategies. Each video will introduce you to new features of Quagensia as well as reinforce concepts presented in previous videos.
STEP #3: After watching the videos in Step #2, you can quickly learn by example by viewing, copying, and making your own small changes to your copies of the Quagensia Strategies that come pre-installed with all editions of the Quagensia Desktop Application.
Once you’ve installed Quagensia on your computer, you can browse through the built-in Quagensia Strategies using the Algo Explorer and you can search through them using the Search Window.
To view and copy the pre-installed Quagensia Strategies available in the Algo Explorer, expand the Algo Explorer Tree’s “Algos from Quagensia” >> “Strategies” tree item, then continue expanding the tree items underneath the “Strategies” tree item to view the pre-installed Quagensia Strategies. When you see a Quagensia Strategy you want to view or copy, click on it and choose either “View Strategy” or “Create New Strategy from Copy of This Strategy” from the menu item in the context menu that appears.

STEP #4: Learn as you work with real-time context-sensitive help.
The real-time context-sensitive help built into Quagensia is much better than any comprehensive textbook, because it allows you to learn about the things you need to learn about, when you need to learn them, and not worry about the thousand other things that may be of use to you someday.
You can access real-time context-sensitive help as you build your own Quagensia Strategies and Quagensia Functions through both tooltips as well as the real-time help that appears in the Context-Sensitive Help panel and includes a description of whatever is under your mouse cursor as well as links to its related online help documentation.
